Church life and ministries

Our life together goes beyond Sunday morning. Here are the groups you can be part of.

Women's Fellowship

Formed in 1994, the fellowship is open to all women of the church. We meet to support one another in a social atmosphere, with prayer and spirituality at the heart of what we do.

  • We connect spiritually, emotionally and socially as we grow in Christ and with each other.
  • We share devotions and life experiences and pray for each other.
  • Our year includes fellowship, worship, service, study and giving.

As a sign of Christian love we rally round each other at times of weddings, births and deaths. Our annual events include a thanksgiving service, a barbecue and a Christmas dinner.

Church Choir

Our choir is a culturally diverse, welcoming group with a mission to manifest God's praise on earth.

Alongside classical hymns, we draw on the diverse cultural heritage of our members in songs of thanks and praise, preparing hearts to receive the Word.

Through our ministry we hope everyone can experience deliverance, healing, joy and victory over life's challenges.

"The aim and final reason of all music is none else but the glory of God and the refreshment of the spirit."

Intercessory Ministry

Our intercessors meet before the service to pray for God's divine will to be done as we fellowship together.

  • We pray with those who come to the altar for salvation and other needs.
  • We meet occasionally for personal prayer support.
  • We receive regular requests for prayer from the congregation, and from friends and family members.
  • We often pray around our church building, inside and outside.

Stewards Union

Our stewards help build up the church and create an atmosphere of welcome and a sense of belonging. We make all visitors welcome, especially people with a disability or additional needs.

They help make sure our services are well organised and that worship takes place in an atmosphere of reverence. Stewards show a deep commitment to Christ and to his church.

Membership is open to all members of Upper Clapton United Reformed Church, and full training is given.
